Janie Johnson's Date and Walnut Pie ~ The "Janie Johnson Date & Walnut Pie" is a very special recipe from my friend, Wendy Nelles, It comes from her mom's cookbook of old-fashioned pies made by the Baptist church ladies in Norfolk County, Ontario, for the potluck lunches they would share during their quilting bees. As a kid, Wendy would get off the school bus at the church, hoping there might be a slice of Janie's pie left as the ladies packed up their days' labour of sewing and quilting for the missionaries. With a delicious filling of dates, walnuts, heavy cream and brown sugar my kitchen smells like heaven as it bakes. A firm favourite of all who try it! $20.00

Schnitz Pie: Inspired by Dorothy Wideman, owner of Wideman's Home Baking. She was the aunt of my friend Lori Lei Hetherington, who coached me in getting to a result that was close to her Aunt Dorothy's. At her funeral, the recipe was shared, which I cherish. It's a sour cream pie which can be made with many fruit options in season: Apple; apple-cranberry; peach; blueberry; blueberry-peach; raspberry; strawberry-rhubarb: all with a crunchy cinnamon-sugar topping. Some people request it with sugar cut in half $15.00

Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Tart ~ From The Alternative Baker cookbook. made with almond and sweet rice flours To quote the book, " Dark chocolate works with a salt kissed cocoa crust to deliver a punch of flavour, and cranberries provide the perfect bright counterpoint to the richness of chocolate and nuts, bursting brightly like fresh raspberries," which can be substituted when cranberries aren't around $25

Peach Brown Butter Sour Cream Tart ~ From The Alternative Baker cookbook. I quote the book: "It's as comfy as a slice of peach pie topped with vanilla ice-cream, only reconfigured and fancied up a bit.
